Privacy notice

This explains what happens to the information you send me through this website. It applies to the enquiry form and to anyone who emails me from a link here.

Who is responsible for your information

I am. Chika Amadi is the data controller for enquiries made through this site. You can reach me at hello@chikaamadi.com about anything on this page.

What I collect

Only what you type into the enquiry form, which is your name, your email address, and your message. If you are enquiring about speaking you may also give your organisation, the format, the location and the event date. If you are enquiring about mentoring you may also say where you are in your career.

I do not collect anything else. There is no analytics, no advertising and no tracking on this site.

Why I collect it, and on what basis

To read your enquiry and reply to it, and to arrange the engagement or the mentoring if we go ahead. The lawful basis is legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) of the UK GDPR: you have contacted me and you expect an answer. Where a booking is agreed, the basis becomes performance of a contract under Article 6(1)(b).

I will not add you to a mailing list, and I will not use your details for anything you did not contact me about.

How long I keep it

Enquiries that do not lead anywhere are deleted within twelve months of our last exchange. Where an engagement goes ahead, I keep the correspondence for six years after it ends, which is the ordinary period for business and tax records in the UK.

Who else sees it

When you send the form, a transactional email service delivers your enquiry to my inbox and sends you a confirmation, and my email provider then stores it on my behalf. The company hosting this website processes the submission in passing. None of them uses your information for their own purposes. I do not sell your information and I do not share it with anyone else unless the law requires it.

Cookies and third parties

This site sets no cookies, and its typefaces are served from this site rather than from Google or any other font service. Pages and images are delivered by the site’s hosting provider and its content management system, which process your IP address to do that and for no other purpose. More on the cookies page.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you can ask me to give you a copy of what I hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, delete it, restrict what I do with it, or send it to you in a portable format. You can also object to my relying on legitimate interests. Email me and I will answer within one month.

Complaints

If you think I have handled your information badly, please tell me first so I can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes

If this notice changes, the date below changes with it. There is no archive of earlier versions, so if a change matters to you, keep a copy.
